Bullying is more common than you’d ever believe. And with the advent of cyber bullying, children and adults alike can target other people and hurt their feelings online as well as in person. In one comprehensive study, about 50 percent of students from grade four to twelfth have reported being bullied in school in the last month. It is a huge problem that school administrators are trying to fix, but they can’t prevent bullying in all its forms – especially when it is taken online or off school property. In the video below, you’ll see a young girl sitting at a bus stop when two other girls come over to her to bully her. It is a despicable scene, but soon enough a miracle unfolds right before your eyes all caught on camera. Check this out now!
If you saw bullying happening, would you have the courage to step in and tell the bully to stop? It is not easy to stand up to someone lording their power over another. It can be intimidating. It can be scary. But it is usually the right thing to do.
Check out the video below and you’ll see everyday people stepping up to the two girls who are bullying the third at the bus stop. It is hard to watch until people stand up to the bullies.
As you can imagine, this video has stirred up a huge conversation. Here were some comments shared by viewers like you:
“This brought me to tears and I am sharing as much as I can. Thank you and this should be mandatory viewing for Parents and Kids alike.”
“At my school it’s usually the ugly girls who bully and everyone always confronts them. Ugly people go around calling other people ugly, but they have no right to talk because they aren’t pretty on the inside or outside.”
“Bullying is less obvious than it seems. It normally doesn’t look like this, but much harder to notice and much messier…”
One young person opened up about their experience with bullies and how much it hurts.
“I get bullied everyday… I’m a sophomore in high school and most days I don’t even want to go to school anymore… every morning those bullies wait for me at the school entrance just so they can beat me up, push me around and steal my lunch money. I’m left starving during lunch time because I can’t buy lunch anymore so I just go sit in the bathroom until lunch is over.. when I take a different entrance they find me later in the day and beat me up even more just for avoiding them. no one wants to be my friend because they don’t want to get bullied with me, im all alone… my teachers don’t care and my parents won’t send me to a different school because of our zip code. I f***ing hate my life. why do bullies have to exist..”
What do you think about this video? Would you stand up to a bully if you saw it happening in public?
