Crocodile Is About To Enjoy His Lunch, But Then THIS Came Out Of Nowhere To Ruin His Week [PHOTO]

In the photos below, see the amazing moment a 15-foot killer crocodile is forced to plunge under water when it’s chased by a protective mother hippo.

The huge crocodile is seen carrying the head of a dead zebra in its jaws. But the reptile had gotten too close to the mother hippopotamus and its baby calf. So the mother lunged at the croc and forced it to flee the scene.

Because the crocodile got too close to the mother hippo and her relaxing calf, the protective mom sprinted at the sharp-tooth beast and forced it to plunge under the water to escape.

The hippo was not just trying to scare it away. She was trying to kill the crocodile. See the photo of her huge jaws clamping down in an attempt to crush the reptile’s head. The crocodile missed a death sentence by inches.

The amazing photos were captured by wildlife photographer Renata Ewald.

The 50-year-old photographer from Nelspruit in South Africa was watching the crocodile with its Zebra prize.

“I heard from people on my way to Lower Sabie that a zebra was caught by a huge crocodile at Sunset Dam, so I decided to stop there in the hopes of still seeing something of it,” Renata said.

“At first it looked that it was all over and done. I spotted the one hippopotamus on the very far left of the dam and then saw a tiny hippo baby next to her in the water. I then spotted a huge crocodile with a part of the zebra kill. I would say this crocodile was approximately 15ft long and very intimidating through your lens,” the photographer said.

“The unsuspecting crocodile moved in the direction of the hippo mother and her baby. I do not know if he was trying to avoid other crocs from taking it from him underneath the water or what,” the wildlife photographer continued.

“Suddenly the large hippo lunged towards the crocodile. I was totally amazed to see how fast the hippo mom moved through the water. I thought she was going to bite the crocodile into two pieces. She was one furious hippo mom. With quick reflexes, the desperate crocodile immediately turned around, refusing to let go of the zebra carcass even if it cost him his life. The hippo’s bite fell just centimeters short of the crocodile’s head.”
