Weddings are a beautiful occasion that bring together two families. In a world where traditional weddings are being replaced by weddings between all different types of people, creativity is the new normal. That means people are looking for ways to make their wedding more memorable than others’.
Besides being a moment of love and commitment, weddings symbolize the undying connection between two people. But for the couple getting married in Dublin, Georgia, that seemed to be forgotten when the bride turned to leave her groom at the altar…
At first I was shocked. How could she leave the love of her life alone there like that? Was she abandoning him? Giving up on their love so soon?
But I kept my eyes glued to her hand because she had a secret she was about to reveal. And when she did it became one of the biggest surprises at a wedding ceremony I’ve ever seen in my life…
After Brittany walked down the aisle, she approached her husband to be Evan. He was waiting there eagerly knowing full well that she was the woman for him. They waited together praying their vows would go off without a hitch.
But then Brittany stepped away from the altar and left her husband to be alone in a state of sheer panic…
Evan is terrified. He puts his hands in his pockets worried that she is about to tell him some dastardly secret. Or refuse to take his hand in marriage.
For months, Brittany had been hiding a secret. She couldn’t wait to tell him. But if she did, she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself. It had to come at the perfect time, at the perfect moment.
Then the music starts to play. She had found a way to incorporate a song that meant the world to both of them and she did it as part of her wedding vows.
When Evan finally realizes what is going on, he is overtaken by emotion. His bride starts saying her wedding vows in sign language. And it touches him where it counts.
Watch the video from the wedding because it will be one of the most special moments you’ve ever seen and a testament to a couple’s undying love!
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12
Viewers are shocked and impressed that Brittany shared her vows in American Sign Language. Here are a few of their comments on the video page:
“Although I am a hearing individual I am fluent in sign language ASL and C-sign as I have many profoundly deaf and hard of hearing friends. For the jerks who made rude comments apparently you are wither blind or stupid she is signing the lyrics to the song”
“the bride does indeed walk away from the groom and then it says to watch her hands and the reason for that is so she can sign a song that represents them and their wedding. It’s a beautiful gesture and is in no way misleading.”
