When a man claimed he had supernatural powers, and staked his entire career on it, he was put to the test when his community called on him to walk into crocodile infested waters. Claiming that he was able to control the giant reptiles, the man was bit and then dragged under water by one particularly fierce crocodile. And after the incident, the with supernatural powers was declared dead. His name was Suprianto. And in the video below, you can see this man’s final moments. He was working in the waters around Kutai, Kartanegara in Indonesia. And despite his self-proclaimed powers, he was dragged under the water and killed, dying a most violent death.

Suprianto was called to the crocodile infested waters to recover the body of a teenager named Arjuna who died there not long before. Because Suprianto had special powers when dealing with the crocodiles, as he claimed, he was the go-to man to recover the teen’s body.

Although he was speaking his mantra, Suprianto was dragged to his death under the murky waters. It happened as he swam and chant in the waters. His special tactics did not save him despite his supposed supernatural connection with the reptiles.

Watch the video below to see the shaman work his magic with the crocodiles. While it appears to work for the first few moments, he doesn’t have luck after he gets dragged under water by a crocodile. But the observers don’t realize he is dying or they might have tried to help. Because the shaman proclaimed that he had supernatural powers and would not be hurt by the beasts. But as soon as they had the chance, they struck at his ripe flesh.

On Sunday, police found both bodies. Suprianto and Arjuna were recovered. The Kutai Kartanegara Police Chief Fadillah Zulkarnaen told the Detik news site that Suprianto’s mangled corpse was found floating at 9.40pm.

Although the shaman might have believed that he had a special connection with the reptiles, the truth seems to point in another direction. He was not so lucky when he went swimming looking for the teen’s body. And the crocodile whisperer lost his life to the animals he had dedicated his career to. And that was sad for him and his followers in Indonesia.

“I think he was dragged by a croc under the water and then ran out of oxygen. From the pictures I’ve seen, his body is still intact, his arms and legs are still there.”

Arjuna’s corpse was also not eaten. His family will be able to perform proper funeral rites.

These recent deaths are just the latest in line following those that happened in Kalimantan this past summer. And this is the second shaman in as many seasons who has been killed in the line of duty.

This past July, a crocodile killed a man after it answered the shaman’s call. But the man hadn’t even gone into the water. That just shows you how aggressive these crocodiles are becoming.

The video footage is shocking. You’ll see the shaman get pulled right down under the water. Wow.
