Guy With Half A Body Pulls Off A Performance That Would Be Hard Even For Someone With Legs

Updated November 9, 2017

An acrobat had to go through a leg amputation, having both removed. For most people, this would end such a career, but for this man, it was just the beginning.

The acrobat is from Daytona Beach, Florida and his performance name is Short E. Dangerously. This man has performed all across the globe, showing people that being a bit different does not mean that you have to give up the activities that you love. For many people, he has inspired them to continue going for what they want even when life tosses a curveball.

He uses his hands to pull off his breathtaking stunts, such as fire breathing, balancing on bowling balls and glass walking. He has been without his legs since he was two due to having a medical condition known as sacral agnesis. This is a condition that is very rare and it is characterized by the lower spine being compromised during fetal development. In order to go on with his life, he had to have both of his legs amputated. He remarked that for obvious reasons, his life was not normal.

Before getting into the acrobat business, he worked as a DJ at a nightclub. While this certainly paid the bills, he wanted to do something a bit different. Once he discovered sideshow, he says that the rest is history.

He is still considered to be new in the business since he just got started about five years ago. However, in his short time entertaining the passes, a lot has happened.

He is with Hellzapoppin and he travels with them full-time. He says that they are on the road for seven to 10 months out of the year. He said that they travel around with the world’s biggest bands, motorcycle rallies and other major events.

He says that the walking on glass now gets the most attention where the bowling ball balancing used to be his biggest draw. He not only walks on regular glass, but it is on fire while he is doing it. He performs this act with his bare hands, so it is easy to see why people are so incredibly fascinated by it.

He says that Johnny Eck is one of his personal heroes. He feels that Eck essentially paved the way for him and other people like him. His goal is to at least live up to Eck’s legacy and maybe even surpass it at some point.

This acrobat has amazed crowds all over the world and he proves that if you want to do something, you will find a way. He is certainly not your traditional acrobat and there are a number of stunts he is unable to do since he has no legs. However, he has found ways to perform tricks that keep people entertained despite his disability. This man serves as an inspiration for everyone, but especially those who are differently abled and not able to do things in what most would consider the normal or traditional way due to having challenges that most people do not have.
