Chicken is one of the most-used ingredients, and for good reason, as it’s tasty, packed with protein and super versatile. One of the ways to pack veggies, protein, and carbs into your dinner is to make your meal in the form of a casserole. These dishes are especially enjoyable in the winter months, as they are sure to warm you up. And casseroles are typically well-loved by everyone, so you can please your entire family in just a few simple steps.
In today’s fast-paced world, we are always looking for easier, less time-consuming ways to make our favorite recipes, which is why we’ve given the following Quick, Easy and Incredibly Tasty Chicken Casserole recipe two thumbs up. With just a few ingredients, you can make everyone’s mouth water.
First things first. You’ll need to gather the following ingredients…
1 can of cream of celery soup
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced thinly
1 cup white rice, uncooked
2 onions roughly chopped
1 packet of french onion soup mix
salt and pepper to taste
You’ll need a rectangular glass casserole dish. If you don’t have glass, then a regular pan will do.
First and foremost, you will want to preheat your oven to 320 degrees so it’s ready to go when your ingredients are all in place. Next, take the cup of white rice and spread it evenly along the bottom of the pan.
Now, take out your thawed out chicken breasts and spread them out on top of the rice. Use your hands to stretch them out so they take up the entire bottom of the pan, but be sure not to overlap them.
Next, you will take your cream of celery soup and french onion soup and mix them together in a bowl. When your soup can is empty, fill it with water and add the water to the soup combination. Stir it so it is nicely blended, before adding salt and pepper.
Now that you have your casserole base and your flavoring, you will need to pour the soup over the chicken and rice. Be sure to cover all the chicken breasts evenly…we’d hate for your family members to miss out on any of the savory flavors.
Next up is the onions. After you slice up your white onions, sprinkle them across the entire dish. You may need to press them down slightly so they are submerged in the soup mixture. If they have too much exposure to the heat on top, then they will burn.
It’s time to pop your concoction into the oven. Slide it in and cook for two hours. Be prepared for the delicious smells that will overtake your home in no time. Your family will most likely get lured into the kitchen for the tasty meal.
Now, for the moment you’ve all been waiting for…time to nosh! Serve the meal warm, but keep in mind that casseroles are great re-heated and they make for great leftovers the next day. For the family member who shows up late for dinner…simply pop their plate in the microwave and let them enjoy.
