Breaking up is hard. No matter what stage in the relationship you’re in with your lover, it is hard to end things. But if you’ve gotten to the stage where you’re engaged with the other person, you’d expect them to at least have the decency and courage to end things face-to-face. But one man broke things off with his gorgeous fiancé via a text message, because he wasn’t man enough to do it in person…

While that is despicable in itself, he also had the gall to end things right before Christmas. We all know that Christmas time can be tough – especially when it involves the in-laws. But this guy could have at least waited for the holiday to be over or break up with her in person.

But after getting the heart-breaking text message, Cowboys fan Brenna Clanton found a way to get revenge on her ex-lover in the best way possible. Since she had bought tickets to the football game for Christmas before the unceremonious breakup, she decided to go to the game without him and have a great time.

And she had a viral message for her trashy lover that has since gotten picked up all over the internet…

In a photo shared on Twitter, we see Brenna Clanton beaming as she holds a poster she created to expose her former fiancé.

“My fiancé dumped me in a text message. He should have waited until after Christmas,” the poster read.

The life-long football fan was blindsided by how her ex called off their engagement.

“That threw me for a loop,” she told the Dallas Morning News after her story went viral.

Although his terrible move hurt her and broker her heart, she refused to let his negativity bring her down – she went to the game anyways.

“I was absolutely going to go,” she said. “I was just going to take my best friend instead.”

The 30-year-old splurged for the best tickets she could afford. She booked an Airbnb for a romantic night. They had been engaged since June and it seemed like the perfect gift for Cowboys fans.

Since Clanton had been a cheerleader in high school, she knew how to make a sign people would notice.

“I decided to have some fun with it, this was my little get-back to him,” she said. “I thought this might show up on the jumbotron or TV broadcast and I knew (my ex) would be watching the game.”

If her fiancé knew that Brenna had bought him Dallas Cowboys tickets for Christmas, he probably wouldn’t have ended things so soon. Too bad he didn’t see the beauty in his woman. He’s knocking himself now for sure.

She is overjoyed that things have turned out so well for her. Now she has men approaching her and is surely making her ex jealous.

“Just being in the seats I was in, I had never been that close before,” she said. “I’ve been a huge sports fan my whole life and that was a whole new world.

In the end, the Cowboys won the game 42-21 against the Detroit Lions.
