Finding new ways to surprise your significant other can be challenging, as the typical gifts and flowers grow stale after a while. Zach Doell found the perfect way to surprise his girlfriend every day, however — picking her up from school in a different vehicle, and sometimes completely embarrassing her in the process. His zany choices always bring a smile to her face!
In April, Zach stopped by the University of Louisiana to pick up his girlfriend, Brianna Garcia, and used this opportunity to surprise her. At first, he would just honk the horn and call her name obnoxiously in the parking lot, but then he stepped up his game quite a lot. He came up with a new theme every day, decorating his car and dressing in different outfits to reflect the theme.
Zach came to get her in an “ice cream truck,” then a pizza delivery car, where he dressed as a slice of pizza, and even his own version of the Batmobile.
Needless to say, this started to gain some attention and people were looking forward to seeing how Zach would surprise Brianna the next time. A guy he didn’t even know offered up his hot rod to Zach to help him out. Zach told the Daily Advertiser: “People kept begging me to keep doing it and posting the videos. They told me they looked forward to it every day.”
When it seemed like he couldn’t top himself, an amazing bit of destiny played a part, as he was walking across a costume store parking lot to get a whistle for an NFL referee outfit and spotted the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
This, he decided, would be the ultimate vehicle to pick Brianna up in. He decided to ask the workers if he could drive it to pick her up, explaining: “I thought it would be awesome, but there was no way it would happen.” He added, “But then I thought, ‘If I don’t act now, I’ll regret it.’”
Surprisingly, the women in the Wienermobile were happy to help out! Zach totally surprised Brianna when he drove up in that… and of course, he topped it off by dressing in a hot dog costume.
Brianna made a video showing all of the vehicles he had come in and shared it on social media. It got plenty of love and she nabbed the attention of a local radio show, who helped her prank Zach in the perfect way.
She worked with the radio hosts to arrive in the university parking lot in the station’s van and, when they spotted Zach, they laid on the horn. He was definitely surprised, telling the Daily Advertiser: “At first I was scared. I had no idea who was honking. Usually, I’m the one who’s doing it. But then I was so impressed with her. That was the last thing I expected.”
Among the comments on the YouTube video were those who really enjoyed Zach’s creative idea, including: “So darn sweet. I love how he yells her name. I hope they last forever” and “Funny stuff. I’d be kinda embarrassed, but it’s still funny.”
