In a recent social media scandal, plus-size model Iskra Lawrence posted a picture of herself faking a thigh gap, the space between some women’s legs.
But she didn’t just share the fake picture, she also had a message for her thousands of followers: Don’t believe everything you see on the internet.
As Iskra, the model from Worcestershire, explains, it’s easy to fake a thigh gap and many other beauty poses with the right lighting and stance.
The 25-year-old model did a before and after photo that she shared with 1.8 million Instagram so they know not to believe what they see online.
“Always remember social media’s not real life. Never let anyone else’s pics make you feel insecure about yourself. If you don’t look like her and she doesn’t look like you that’s how it’s meant to be,” Iskra warns her followers.
The now viral photos show Iskra side by side in two images wearing purple underwear and a loose top. The first photo was captioned, “I’ll be the first one to tell you pics are all about good lighting and angles.”
In the second images, she leans forward and shows off the ever popular “thigh gap.” She concluded her inspiring message to all the girls out there with…
“You are meant to be YOU no one else, your body is your home so love and respect it. When you look after it beautiful things happens.” Iskra closed her message with #EveryBODYIsBeautiful.
Do you think Iskra is brave to stand up and expose social media lies?
