Although I don’t do it normally, it can be fun to play pranks in the workplace. Because everyone is usually so serious and focused on meeting goals and exceeding expectations, it can be a welcomed relief to do something fun and unexpected. That was what one woman was doing when she decided to prank her coworkers and hide in plain sight. Because she needed a break from her job, she told them to leave the room and that she would hide. And don’t judge them too hard for playing hide and seek despite being well into adulthood – childhood games can be a fun respite from the stresses and responsibilities of adulthood. And that’s what this professional woman was doing when she hid in the room and asked her coworkers to find her. And when they struggled and searched, they only found her after more than a minute. But before revealing that they had completed the task, they snapped a picture of this worker’s hiding spot and shared the picture online so other people could join in on the fun. Can you find her hiding in this image in less than 15 seconds? If so you have eagle eyes…
The image surfaced on Playbuzz recently. And here was what they captioned the task with: “Are you mystified by this woman’s mastery of hiding in plain sight? How long did it take you to find her? Talk to us about it in the comments below, and share with your friends to see if they can find her!”
While you might not have played hide and seek in more than decade, if you find yourself in a situation where it is appropriate, here are some tips to become a master at hide and seek.
First, if you are the one hiding, remember to put these tools and tips to use.
Before running off on the heels of anxiety, know the best places to hide in your environment. This means you need to be observant as you go about your day to day activities. That was how this officer worker was able to find this awesome hiding spot. One day she got curious and peered under the cabinets and saw the opening where she could fit herself.
Before the seeker starts counting scour the room and environment for good places to hide. Perhaps there are closets or desks that you can lurk under. Maybe there is a sleeping bag in the corner of the room. Find someplace where you won’t be noticed. Hiding behind a vertical pipe probably won’t cover your whole person.
The same goes for being a good seeker. You need to know your environment. Look for places that could hide an entire human.
Before you count, look at the other player’s eyes. They might give away a clue as to where they’re trying to hide.
When you’re doing counting, quickly check the environment but do it thoroughly. Go from room to room and make sure you don’t miss anything. Organized searching will win the day for you.
