I Always Struggled Folding A Fitted Sheet Until My Neighbor Taught Me This Simple Trick

For anyone who has struggled with folding a fitted sheet, you have to try this amazing hack. First of all, why is it to challenging to fold that type of sheet? Either it’s a total hassle to get it lined up perfectly or, if you do manage to get it folded up, it’s altogether lumpy or just barely passable. Many people don’t even bother, ball the dreaded fitted sheet up and toss it into the linen closet.

If you’re looking for an easier way, however, this fail-proof method allows you to get your fitted sheets perfectly folded into a tidy little rectangle, perfect for stacking on a shelf. The biggest tip? Don’t be so hasty with the task at hand because, although it doesn’t have to be time consuming, it does take a little extra care to ensure that everything is lined up properly so that your sheet folding is a success.

The YouTube video’s description explains: “Let a gentleman guide you through how to fold a fitted sheet. Fitted sheets can be a challenge, but this video shows how to create a nice rectangle in two minutes. This technique even works on fitted sheets that have elastic all the way around. This fitted sheet is a queen size. Whether you have a twin, double, queen or king, the technique is the same.”

While your initial attempts following his video might be a little shaky, practice makes perfect and in no time you will overcome your fitted sheet folding fears and truly become a champion at the task.

It begins simply enough, with a mess of a fitted sheet on a bed, ready to be folded. The instructor notes that first you should shake out the sheet after removing it from the dryer, making sure to “have it turned so the length-wise goes across your body so that your left arm and your right arm in the corners are the length of the sheet.”

Now that you have it laid out that way, he instructs you to “bring the opposing corner across, stick your fingers from underneath into this corner, into the corner of the seam, place it into the corner of the seam there, so that those corners come together.” He then tightens things up a bit in the corner and repeats the process on the other side.

Once the corners are together on each side, he picks up the sheet with his hands tucked into each corner. He says, “bring the corners together, turn them inside so you now have all four corners together… get the edges, with the opposite thumb together, and lay it down.”

It already looks pretty amazing, right? He then flattens things out and squares it off so the final folding is a breeze. He notes, “the fitted end should be to your right… you’re going to go to the top and bring it down so that you’re making a nice square corner.”

He then provides a little tension to the sheet to make the corners nice and square — take note of how he makes the fitted corner look like a nice tight square corner. With the rectangular sheet all squared off, you can get to work folding the sheet up. Perfection.
