Remember when we were in high school, dreaming about being a rock star, and we said “Am I ever really going to need to know the formula for determining the circumference of a circle?” We do too.
Well, we just found this fun quiz that will put your recollection that kind of useless knowledge to the test. Take it and see how much of the less important stuff you can remember from high school. And, no, it is not all math.
High school could be pretty fun, if you grew up in a John Hughes film. But for the rest of us, it was pure horror.
We thought it would be fun to look at the high school extra curricular activities of some of today’s most successful people. From band nerd, to science club whiz, to math olympiad, here is how some of your favorite personalities survived their blunder years.
Nine Inch Nails founder Trent Reznor played tuba and saxophone in his high school marching band and jazz lab. His high school music teacher once described him as “very upbeat and friendly.” Reznor also joined drama club where he won accolades from his fellow students for his role as “Judas” in the school production of “Jesus Christ Superstar.” Now, that sounds more like our boy.
When Microsoft’s Bill Gates was in high school, there was no such thing as a computer club, so he and his buddy Paul Allen started using the school computer to hack into corporate computers for fun. When they got busted, they were banned from using Lakeside Prep’s computer for a year. When their probation was up, they started working with a legitimate company to debug software. When administrators at the school found out, they asked him to develop software for the school, which led him to compose an app that placed him in classes with, to quote him directly, “a disproportionate number of interesting girls.” What a lady’s man. Not too shabby!
You might think that new It Girl and star of the movie ‘Suicide Squad,” Margot Robbie, had it easy in high school, but you’d be wrong. She had to work three jobs simultaneously while growing up in Australia. Amazingly she still found time to enroll in drama classes, which seem to be paying off quite nicely for her now.
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, was a born performer, taken piano lessons from age four on. In high school she appeared on stage in school productions of “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum” and “Guys and Dolls.”
Before becoming one of the biggest draws in Hollywood, Brad Pitt played on the Kickapoo High School golf team. Not just a jock, he also performed in school musicals and was member of the Forensic team of this Springfield, Missouri area school.
