Little Boy Opens Door To Meet His Grandpa For The First Time. Now Watch What Grandpa Says

Updated December 12, 2016

Last week, Allegro, which is a Polish online auction website, published a new ad called “English for Beginners” that has touched the hearts of every viewer and made the internet cry.

The holiday ad begins with an older gentleman embarking on a new adventure. He opens a box and finds a headset and numerous audio discs all titled “English for Beginners.” He wants to learn English and improve himself this holiday.

But that is only the beginning of the ad. As you watch, you’ll realize how touching this company made their latest and greatest Christmas ad.

Check it out in full below and see what you think…

For the first minute of the ad, the older gentleman is settling in for a language lesson. His box arrives in the mail and he pours himself some tea. Then he sits at his desk and starts practicing the basics.

After reading the first few chapters of the English language book, the studious older gentleman starts labeling all the things in his house with their English names. This will help him learn what they are called in the foreign language. He wants to learn English fast so he can master the challenging new words in the vocabulary.

Unfortunately, the dog doesn’t like having the sticky label put on his forehead…

The man repeats English catchphrases while on the bus and in public.

He practices while in the bathtub – even learning a curse word that might not be safe for children’s ears.

And he puts the television on an English speaking program to get even more practice at night.

At one point, he wakes up from a nap. Two children are peaking their heads into his window. Then he says, “Can you show me the way to the beach?” He is learning English very fast.

While on the train, he says “I love you.” A pretty young lady turns around. Then he says, “You are perfect.”

While watching the television, he learns his curse words because American movies are full of them.

Then he practices what he learned in the bath. While holding his rubbery ducky, he repeats what he heard in the movie, “I’m gonna f***ing kill you.”

The man learns English so well, he decides to purchase a suitcase. But whatever for?

He packs his suitcase, grabs his passport, and takes a flight to a foreign, English speaking land. For an older Polish gentleman, this is an adventure of a lifetime.

But he is doing it all for a very special reason…

He gets to England and then hugs his son. He doesn’t say anything. Then he sees a small toddler walking out of the bedroom.

He says, “Hi, I am your grandpa.” The child studies the man’s face, the face of his flesh and blood.

Here’s what a spokesperson for Allegro told Buzzfeed News:

“Christmas for many is a difficult time in which we yearn for more. But the story we are telling is all-purpose and can be easily understood by any other nation or community who can easily link the happy ending of a smile and tears of emotion to their daily human experience.”
