Loretta Lynn Finally Breaks Her Silence, Shares News Everyone Has Been Dreading

Earlier this year, Loretta Lynn and her family suffered a very close call. The singer had a close call with death when she suffered a stroke. But things have been going well for Loretta as she recovered from the devastating health scare. The country music legend was moving forward with her life and spending more time with her family. But then they were stricken with the loss of one of their own.

Loretta’s brother, Donald Ray Webb, who was also the brother to music icon Crystal Gayle, has passed away right before the weekend on Friday, October 13. He was in Indiana when he passed on and was fortunately surrounded by loved ones and his family. Webb was 76 years old when he came to his end.

Just as Loretta Lynn and her family were focused on the future, they were reminded about how all ends must come. It was very sad for them to see Donald Ray Webb pass on but at least he was surrounded by the people he loved and who loved him.

According to his obituary on the McDonald Funerals webpage, he was a very loved man. The obituary read:

“Donald Ray Webb, 76, passed away on October 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by family in Wabash, Indiana. He was born on April 2, 1941 to Melvin “Ted” Webb and Clara Marie (Ramey) Webb in Butcher Holler, Kentucky.

“He attended Wabash High School and retired from Martin Yale. He enjoyed fishing, playing and singing music, and he was an avid mushroom hunter. He was very proud of the fact that he was a recorded songwriter.

“Donald is survived by his wife Debra (Ross) Webb, two daughters; Janie (Troy) O’Dell of Roann, Indiana, Donna Webb of Kokomo, Indiana. A son; Michael Webb of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. A stepdaughter; Paula Ross of Indiana. Four sisters; Loretta Lynn of Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, Peggy (Sonny) Wright of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Brenda (Bill) Gatzimos of Nashville, Tennessee, and Betty (Gene) Hopkins of Hendersonville, Tennessee. One brother; Herman Webb of Van Lear, Kentucky. Step-sister, Lawanda Butcher Pegram, Columbus, Ohio. 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A special niece Kristin Snyder, and a best friend Paul Mollett. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brothers; Melvin Webb Jr. and Jay Lee Webb and by his Step-Father, Tommy Butcher.

“Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Ave, Wabash, IN 46992 with Pastor Daniel Boone officiating. Calling hours will be from 2p.m. to 7p.m. on Tuesday October 17, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Falls Cemetery in Wabash, IN. Preferred memorials can be directed to Parkview Hospice, Due to his special nurses Diane and Susan

Loretta Lynn and her family are grieving the loss of this great man. He was loved by his family and friends and seemed like a good man. Loretta Lynn agrees with that statement.
