One man is on a mission to protect people and make them look good at the same time. And he’s using his wife to show just how powerful his designs are.
Columbia fashion designer, Miguel Caballero, has designed bulletproof clothing that is both effective and stylish. The line, which is sold under the name MC Armor, is available in gun shops in Texas, Florida, and California and they come in sports coats, t-shirts and safari jackets.
Caballero is confident in his creation and he has shared a video of himself shooting his wife with a bullet while she wears one of his designs. So far there have been more than 230 people who have stepped forward to volunteer to be shot at, proving that Caballero’s design is highly effective.
One of Caballero’s wishes is to be featured in the Guinness Book of World Records to show off the impressive stunt.
A simple tank top is one of the many bulletproof clothing designs and it can be purchased in a variety of different protection levels. It’s lightweight and flexible and believe it or not…fashionable.
“Buyers have been receptive to the product,” said Caballero’s wife, who is one of his many volunteers. She also works for the U.S. market. “We’ve been selling at gun stores, to Uber drivers, to doctors, lawyers, professors. People have been very interested in the product.”
“The beautiful thing is that it’s appealing to higher-end clientele,” said Johnson Firearms manager, Josh Anderson. “It’s something that will give them protection but not look like they’re wearing a vest.”
In the video below, Caballero’s brave wife stands in front of him and counts to three before he shoots her right in the stomach from just a couple feet away. She barely flinches when she is hit by the bullet and then goes on to raise her arms in the air, showing everyone she is A-ok.
He is also shown shooting magician David Blaine in the video and Blaine doesn’t budge when he is shot in the stomach. He then walks away like nothing happened.
Several commenters viewed the video and they weighed in on what they thought about the product and the video…
“You get hit, point blank, in the stomach solo plexus, the force alone is going to fold you over. She didn’t even blink. Either she has some incredible ab’s or there’s something else going on here.”
“Blank bullet or maybe not. Either way, I need a bulletproof poncho for my next Chicago trip.”
It will be interesting to see how well Caballero’s products sell and if he will branch out even further when it comes to the styles and options for both men and women. It’s rather sad to know that we live in a world where wearing bullet proof clothing is becoming more of a normal thing, however; so far it seems that the majority of Caballero’s clients are high end so maybe these options will be good for politicians and those who are in the public eye.
