Now that the text messages between FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who were lovers, are released, the media is deciphering their meaning. But one fact has come forward that cannot be denied. Then-President Barack Obama wanted to know the details about the FBI investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the inquiry that concerned her thousands of deleted emails.
Not only were Strzok and Page texting back and forth about the president’s desire to remain update on the case, Page told her lover that she had to prepare a report that would go to then-FBI director James Comey, who would present it to the president.
Page told Strzok all about how she needed to make the memo and fill it with talking points so Comey could satisfy Obama’s curiosity concerning the investigation into his former Secretary of State.
Months ago, Obama told Fox News in an interview that he was not taking part in the ongoing investigations. In the April 2016 interview, Obama told Chris Wallace:
“I do not talk to the attorney general about pending investigations. I do not talk to the FBI directors about pending investigations. We have a strict line.”
Obama then promised to “guarantee” to the Fox News house and the conservative audience watching that he had “no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department or the FBI.”
Obama said this was not only how he treated the Clinton investigation, but “any case.” Then he said that he would never ask for updates like that “full stop. Period.” And then he declared that his former Secretary of State would not receive any special treatment during the FBI investigation into her emails.
“Nobody gets treated differently when it comes to the Justice Department because nobody is above the law,” Obama told Wallace.
Because Hillary Clinton was the leading Democratic contender to replace Obama as president at the time of the interview, it is no surprise that Obama would have wanted to be informed about the ongoing FBI investigation. He probably wanted to know if the Democrats had a chance at the presidency, or if a Republican candidate would take the lead.
Readers of IJR.com are not surprised to hear Obama did not do as he promised.
“No surprise Obama interfered!”
“Nice words. And that is all it has ever been. You can’t do what you say to do. You went against everything you just said. And you say Trump lies. Okay.”
“I know that Obama was most likely behind all of this and I hope it all comes out.”
Meanwhile, President Trump announced that the texts between the FBI lovers are “bombshells” that will blow up in the Democrats face.
“NEW FBI TEXTS ARE BOMBSHELLS!” the president tweeted.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders elaborated on behalf of Trump:
“I think it just further shows that there is reason for all of us to have great cause for concern in this process, and we hope that it’s more thoroughly and fully looked at going forward,” Sanders said.
