Dad thought he had everything under control. With five children in his brood, Mike Martin created a YouTube account named DaddyoFive to collect money off his home family videos. Because he believed in a tough love kind of relationship, he would often “prank” his young children to get a laugh. But when one of his wildly successful videos went viral, dad quickly lost custody of his children to their biological mother.

On Monday, biological mother Rose Hall uploaded a video with her lawyer Tim Conlon. She is the mother of Mike’s two youngest children 9-year-old Cody and 12-year-old Emma. They were the most frequent victims of the deranged father’s pranks.

In the video, mom tells all who’ll listen that she received emergency custody of her two kids because their father and his second wife, Heather, were terrible to them. Check out the video below to see why this story is so big!

Because mom now has the children in her custody, she can say with confidence that Cody and Emma are doing much better.

“They’re doing good,” Hall said in the video while seated next to her lawyer. “They’re getting back to their playful selves.”

Her lawyer Conlon added, “The kids are in a deprogramming sort of mode in the moment.”

During the video, mom thanked viewers on YouTube who hated to watch Mike Martin abuse the young children for profit. While Mike was raking in money from YouTube because his video pranks on the little ones were so popular, a large minority thought that what he was doing was despicable. Now the state agrees that he does not deserve custody of the children.

“Very heartbreaking and disturbing to see my kids abused,” said Hall.

What may be most sickening of all is that most people loved watching Mike Martin abuse his children on YouTube. His channel had more than 760,000 subscribers who would tune in religiously to watch dad “prank” his children until they cried.

In the videos, Martin is seen pranking Cody over and over again. For months, a minority of viewers have called what he was doing to the 9-year-old abusive.

Since custody of his children was taken away, Mike Martin has removed all videos from his channel – except one where he and his wife give a public apology.

He regrets what he has done to his children and writes in the description: “What started out as family fun and entertainment took on a life of its own. Before we knew it, we were caught-up in our families popularity which led to some poor decisions. Upon reflection, we realize there were mistakes made that caused our family some pain; we offer our most humble and sincere apology to those we negatively impacted and offended, particularly our wonderful children. Our children are safe. Off camera and out of character, they are normal, happy kids who play sports and love being with their family and friends. Thank you for your understanding as we work through this difficult time.”

Do you think that this father should ever get to see his children again after what he did to them?
