The clock is ticking. You have only a few seconds to find all six of these women’s legs in the photo below. But if you’re like the majority of people, you’ll quickly realize that this seemingly easy task is much harder than it seems. And although the image has been online for some time now, no one can agree on whose legs are whose. That should surprise you. But once you give this optical illusion a shot, you’ll struggle like most people to logically identify the women’s legs in the picture. It’s not like this makes sense.
This has been confounding people online ever since it initially appeared on social media all those months ago.
And if you think you’ve got it figured out – that one of these women does not have legs – you are a clever, out-of-the-box thinker. But you’re wrong. We promise. All six of these women have all their limbs. So don’t think you can take this easy way out. This is a challenging puzzle for you to figure out. But give it your best shot. And if you think you have the answer, please post it in the comments below and share it with all the other readers who are just as stumped as you are.
After the picture went viral, these six women from Appleton, Wisconsin got an interview with “Fox & Friends.” That’s when they were asked to redo the picture for all the viewers at home.
According to TipHero, “Believe it or not, even after the six women arranged themselves on the very couch, in the very clothes, in the very location where the shot was originally taken, the results were STILL mind-bending. Now that’s a true optical illusion!”
Now that is a stunning realization.
Before the girls went on to reach a national audience with their Fox & Friends interview, the picture included here went viral on Reddit. Viewers shared lots of comments including the following selection:
One person thought they had it all figured out.
“(From left to right) the 2nd girl’s jeans seem to be black and blue (see link), and she stuck one of her legs next to the black jeans of the first girl. The middle girl opens her legs. She is not truly smiling that happily because she is bearing the weights. The 4th girl put one of her legs on top of the middle girl and may be folded the other behind her big leg.”
“It’s actually the girl who is the second from the left whose legs are hard to find because they are hidden behind the girl on the far left’s. Her pants are the same color, and almost blend. You can see the difference where there is a bit of sock/skin showing above the boot.”
One viewer ignored the leg question and focused on the shadowy figure behind the couch.
“I’m more concerned with the dark creature behind them.”
What do you think the solution to this optical illusion is? Think you’ve got it figured out? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
