Unless you’re Celine Deon or an amazing singer, the best place to practice using your pipes is when you’re in your car. You can turn the volume up and sing to your heart’s content. And it is so fun to do. There’s a reason James Cordon does carpool Karaoke with the stars. It is just so much fun.
But in the viral video below, one commuter has her trusty canine next to her in the passenger seat. As you will experience, this dog is the one who loves to sing. And because the pup always does its best effort when Michael Jackson songs are playing, the dog owner put on one of The King Of Pop’s most popular hits “Will You Be There” from the Free Willy soundtrack. Watch how the dog responds as soon as the song plays on the speakers…
When the tune begins, Honey, who is Melissa’s rescue dog, lifts her head up to the sky and starts howling. She howls for as long as she can before she needs to take in another breath.
While this song has been known to give people shivers and inspire them, this dog is absolutely touched by the Michael Jackson hit from the 1990s.
When the video was uploaded to Rumble, where it has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times, the uploaded labeled it with the following description:
“Honey, Melissa’s rescue dog, loves singing along to a good tune. Michael Jackson’s hit ‘Will You Be There’ played on the radio while they were driving through Humboldt County a few months ago and Honey couldn’t help but sing along!”
Storyful also shared this heartwarming video. They remarked about how Honey always had a great singing voice. But during this car ride she decided that “Wil You Be There” was her favorite Michael Jackson song.
“So she began to belt out the notes to the song while her smiling owner was driving. We hope that Honey finds a talent show where her skill can be recognized.”
Michael Jackson’s “Will You Be There” was released in 1993 on his album “Dangerous”. Besides becoming the main theme of the movie Free Willy, it was also one of his most popular songs off the album. The single sold more than 500,000 copies in the United States.
Michael wrote and produced the song himself with co-producing credits going to Bruce Swedien. Jackson also orchestrated the rhythm and vocal arrangements.
Although critics were not big fans of the song, it has major success. Plus, it won the “Best Song in a Movie” award at the MTV Movie Awards back in 1994.
Since it was released more than 20 years ago, the song has been covered by several groups. It was also performed in American Idol in 2010 by Michael Lynche. It appeared on The X-Factor UK when Fleur East sang it in 2014.
Do you like how the dog sings “Will You Be There”? Should Honey enroll in a dog talent show? Or is carpool karaoke good enough?
