Brianna and her husband, Austin, were more than excited to welcome their first baby into the world. She was pregnant with a baby boy and couldn’t be more eager to share the experience of parenting the child with the love of her life, Austin. But the Brianna received a devastating call from her mother-in-law. It was a nightmare come to life.

During the call Brianna’s mother-in-law told her that “Austin had an accident.” And the mother-to-be couldn’t stop her imagination from going through the worst-case scenarios about what this meant.

But no matter how twisted her thoughts were, they didn’t compare to the TRUTH about what happened to Austin.

Austin had suffered a brain hemorrhage. But Brianna only learned this after making the two hour drive to the hospital. But the reason the love of her life suffered this horrible health problem was something that shocked Brianna. She didn’t think her husband was engaging in any dangerous activity, but she was wrong. He enjoyed his energy drinks and these ended up being the cause of all his and his family’s suffering.

Because Austin was working extra hours in anticipation of the arrival of his son, he had been supplementing his diet with energy drinks. He also had to commute to work more and needed the boost to make the drive safely.

Austin became addicted to the highly caffeinated and sugary drinks. He soon started drinking them constantly. And because he was abusing the dangerous drinks, they caused a brain hemorrhage and sent the soon-to-be father into the hospital just as his wife as ready to go there herself.

He had worked himself into a predicament. He was doing the extra hours to support his family, but he used too many energy drinks and ended up losing weeks worth of work and pay.

“After two weeks of living in a hospital, wondering if he would survive or be taken from us, we made our way back home,” Briana revealed on her Facebook page. “The time had come for me to deliver our baby.”

Her emotional rollercoaster ride of a story went viral on Facebook. Here is what she wrote in part:

“Love is not the little things. It is not the phone calls, the dates, or even the memories. Love is knowing you would sacrifice things that you didn’t even know you could sacrifice. Love is selfless…

“Being pregnant is supposed to be one of the most amazing journeys you will ever embark on. You’re creating a new life. You are experiencing unconditional love for someone you have not even met.

“Austin and I were so excited to meet our little boy. To bring him home. To be a family.”

Brianna then explains how the news of Austin’s brain hemorrhage tore her apart. And she had to watch his parents suffering over his pain through all the surgeries.

As she gave birth to her child, Austin was still in recover. And it was uncertain if he would pull through. He did, but he has lost part of his head. And he needs a lot of helping going through the recovery process.

“He isn’t the same man I fell in love with, but I still fall further everyday. We are fighting to help him recover. To make his life better. One day we will get there.”

If you drink energy drinks, be careful – they can be dangerous if consumed in excess.
