If you’ve ever been pranked by someone, you know that the best way to deal with it is to get revenge.
After getting so fed up of having people drive on his lawn, the Missouri man created a trap made from a board with nails sticking out of it and placed it in his grass.
He camouflaged his traps so the pranksters couldn’t see it.
“They were painted black and they were buried in the ground, and it made it very difficult to see,” Pevely Police Chief Ron Weeks said.
The man’s neighbors understood why he took action and placed the booby traps. But they didn’t think they were safe with kids around.
Police learned about the trap in May, removed the board of nails, and issued the homeowner a fine. But the police might have been wrong.
Booby traps aren’t necessarily illegal. And cops might have violated the homeowner’s rights to defend his property.
On Monday, Pevely City Council will vote to ban booby traps in the community.
This is just another sign of why too much government impedes on our freedoms as Americans. How is this man supposed to protect his property if he can’t set a trap to keep pranksters away?
