She Recently Beat Cancer And Is Determined To Fulfill Her Dream. What Simon Does For Her? I’M CRYING

Calysta Bevier from Ohio has always dreamed she’d be a successful singer. But when she was diagnosed with cancer, she saw your dream slipping away from her. She was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer. But instead of giving in to the terrifying news, Calysta kept fighting. She has since beaten the cancer and is a survivor.

Now the 16-year-old has her sights set on winning America’s Got Talent and taking home the $1 million prize. She thinks she has what it takes, but will Simon be as impressed with her voice as he is with her determination? Find out in the video below…

After stepping on stage and introducing herself, she admits a shocking truth.

“My hair wasn’t really like my choice,” the teen admits after Howie Mandel compliments her look. “I’m a survivor of Stage 3 ovarian cancer…Kind came here today to show people that no matter what you’ve gone through keep chasing your dreams.”

After telling her story, the audience erupts in applause.

“Wow, you’re an inspiration,” Howie Mandel says. “We can’t wait to hear you.”

At the 1-minute mark, Calysta takes her place center stage behind the microphone.

The piano starts playing and she shares her voice with the rapt crowd.

“This is my fight song,” she sings, “take back my life song.”

Simon nods in approval. He knows this girl has what it takes although she’s only been singing for 60-seconds…

The crowd stands rising to their feet. But Calysta has only gotten started.

She alternates her singing dynamics demonstrating how she has complete control over her voice. She goes from soft to loud on the drop of a dime. Even Simon rises to his feet and admits that she is awesome giving her the double thumbs up.

“Calysta,” Simon says. “I love everything about you. You know what? I just had this feeling when you walked out, I can’t explain it. Just your spirit. The choice of song. Your voice. I think you’re really special. I just got this really incredible feeling about you.”

“I predict great things are going to happen for you,” Simon Cowell says. Then he does something completely unexpected…

Simon stands reaches toward the center of the judge’s table.

“Sorry, I’ve got to do this,” Cowell says.

He slaps the Golden Buzzer giving this 16-year-old singer one of the biggest pats on the back she can get in the world. She just earned the ultimate approval from one of the world’s toughest music critics. When Simon Cowell says you’re good, you know it must be true.

But Simon’s choice to hit the Golden Buzzer has stirred up a lot of controversy. Many people think if it wasn’t for her cancer survivor story, she never would have gotten the accolade. They’ve shared the following comments on YouTube.

“I love her, and I like her voice, and her song choice was fitting. But, as much as I hate to say it, I don’t believe she would’ve been buzzed if she didn’t tell her story. I really hate to say it. Her performance didn’t wow me enough to think she got the golden buzzer. But hey. Not my choice”

Others defend her and her talent.

“everyone says it’s because of her story of the cancer that she got the golden buzzer. have any of you actually heard her voice? She has amazing control and vocals for her age, stop complaining you are all just jealous!”
