Sheriff Is Sick Of Political Correctness, Posts Sign For All Visitors. Quickly Goes Viral

Updated March 29, 2017

During Donald Trump’s run for the Whitehouse, the country seemed split on many issues. But one that stuck out like a sore thumb was the issue of political correctness. Conservatives felt like the country had lost its ability to laugh at itself and take a joke. With some liberals being hyper-sensitive to any issue that smelled of bigotry, they called “racism”, “sexism”, “homophobia” on almost any contentious issue – even if it was intended as a joke.

While it’s wise and good to be wary of the way others feel, we cannot live our lives by countless social rules. Eventually, you just need to let your hair down and be honest.

Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley was sick of visitors coming into his county in rural Georgia demanding political correctness from his residents. So, to stop them before they started, he erected a sign that greeted motorists who were crossing the county border.

Read the sign he made below!

Everyone entering Sheriff Jolley’s turf was greeted with the following sign:

“Welcome to Harris County, Georgia.”

But underneath the large welcome, was a smaller sign that sparked controversy, not only in the country but around the entire country.

“Warning: Harris County is politically incorrect. We say Merry Christmas, God Bless America and In God We Trust. We salute our troops and our flag. If this offends you… LEAVE!”

Because Sheriff Jolley has witnessed the slow death of traditional Georgian values in Harris County over the years, he felt like the sign was a necessary statement.

“It’s time for the silent majority to stand up for our beliefs and not be ashamed,” Jolley said.

Many liberals shouted about and criticized Jolley’s sign. They demanded to know who paid for it. But Jolley won that game because he paid for the “Warning” sign with his own pocket money. And because Harris County loves it, he plans to buy more and may even dip into his retirement savings to do it.

“I spent 20 years in the United States Army in defense of those people who want to say they don’t support the sign. And I fought for that right to have the ability to say they don’t support it,” the sheriff said.

Jolley has enjoyed scrolling through all the positive comments he has received about the sign. While there are negative ones pepper in with them, Harris County, by and large, loves that Sheriff Jolley took a stand against political correctness.

“Maybe the silent majority isn’t going to be silent anymore,” he added.

When the story went viral online, positive comments came flooding in from all parts of the country including on Newsiosity.

One Newsiosity reader commented, “This sheriff is absolutely right! Sir, thank you for your military service as well as your law enforcement service. God bless you.”

“Love the sign! It’s time for Americans everywhere to start standing up for what we believe in and if these people coming in don’t like it go back where they came from,” another user commented. “We are Americans with freedom of choice to live that life God blesses us with and we are not going to stand by and let these people that hate us come in and take out freedoms away from us.Thank you for your service to our country and your stand.”
