After spending a lot of money to secure a luxurious first class seat on a United Airlines flight from Houston, Texas to Washington, D.C., the airline backstabbed a 63-year-old woman and gave the seat to an anti-Trump congresswoman instead. When United saw that Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, a Democrat from Texas was on board, they immediately kicked the Republican first-class flier out of her seat and gave it to the “more important” person.
Because this passenger was upset that United Airlines had backed out of their promise to her in favor of a politician, she snapped a photo of the Congresswoman and then complained to the airline. As a result, they threaten to remove her from the plane for showing resistance. And to make matters worse, the airline alleged that the female passenger canceled her reservations on the airline’s smartphone app.
But Jean-Marie Simon claims that she used her 140,000 miles to buy the first class ticket to take a trip to Guatemala. She lived in Washington, D.C. and used the airline miles she had amassed as a way to make the luxury vacation of a lifetime. But when the trip was over, and she was on the final leg of the trip home to D.C., United Airlines booted her from first class and gave her seat to the Democratic representative instead.
Simon says the trip was “so completely humiliating.”
The terrible customer service experience happened as Simon was boarding the plane at the George Bush International Airport on December 18. While at the gate, the attendant smirked and told Simon that her paper ticket was not in the system and asked if she had canceled her flight.
Simon, who is an attorney, said, “No. I just want to go home.”
The United Airlines attendant then told Simon that her seat had been given to someone else. Apparently, there was some “mistake” in the airline’s system, so they gave her a $500 voucher and put her in the Economy Plus section in row 11.
When Simon learned that Jackson Lee was in her seat, she claimed that United Airlines gave the congresswoman preferred treatment. Jackson Lee has been a vocal opponent of Trump and has called for his impeachment.
United Airlines released a statement to Fox News DENYING everything that Simon alleges.
“We were concerned by this issue and took immediate steps to understand what happened fully. After thoroughly examining our electronic records, we found that upon receiving a notification that Flight 788 was delayed due to weather, the customer appears to have canceled her flight from Houston to Washington, D.C. within the United Airlines app. As part of the normal pre-boarding process, gate agents began clearing standby and upgrade customers, including the first customer on the waitlist for an upgrade.”
Simon denies that she had canceled her flight, although it is possible she accidentally did just that while examining the act. When Fox News contacted her for comments, she refused to speak to their reporters.
Jackson Lee said she “received nothing exceptional or out of the ordinary” during her United flight.
