Many people are familiar with the classic method of cooking steak. Typically, you sear the edges to provide a nice, crusty edge, then throw it in the oven to cook it through.
This method works great, however there is a much more effective way to cook a steak that allows for a consistent medium-rare status throughout the meat.
FudeHouse, a cooking YouTube channel, has come out with the new and improved way to cook a steak, and it isn’t much different from the classical method!
Instead of searing the steak then throwing it in the oven, FudeHouse cooks the steak in the oven first, then sears the edges.
In the video, each step is shown in great detail to allow for the perfect outcome when you try and give it a go.
First step is to pre-heat your oven to 275 degrees, and throw your steak in there with a healthy coating of salt and pepper.
Let the meat cook for around 45 minutes, or until the inner temperature has reached 125 degrees.
Once you take it out of the oven, let the meat rest on its own for about 15 minutes. This allows for carry-over cooking. The meat at this point is rare on the inside, don’t expect it to be done! The carry-over cooking along with the next step will finish it off at a suitable 135 degrees.
Last step, grab a skillet, and maybe throw in a little vegetable oil. Throw the steak in there, and sear the edges nice and strong.
This method of cooking a steak will give you a great, consistent medium-rare distribution of meat throughout the entire cut, and it will be juicier than ever!
