Being a parent comes with many ups and downs, but there are also several funny moments that arise on a daily basis. We all know that kids have quite the imagination and are always leaving us laughing with the honest things they say. Living with a young child is a neverending comedy show and it gets even more hilarious when they start drawing. One mom shared her experience with a somewhat embarrassing image that her daughter drew.
Janene, a blogger who lives in Southern California with her three children and her family, has no shortage of material for her well-known blog, I Might Be Funny. But, recently, she had a story that is hilarious and relatable to all parents. While picking up her daughter after her first day of kindergarten, Janene was shocked to see the picture that her daughter drew of her during the school day and she was quite flattered. While all the other students had drawn pictures of flowers, rainbows, hearts and animals, Janene’s daughter had a very different picture. It was a drawing of her little one and Janene herself, but the physical description of Janene was very generous. Her daughter drew two massive boobs on her mom’s chest in the picture, which clearly stood out amongst the innocent heart drawings.
In her blog post, Janene admitted that her daughter was being very generous and she didn’t come close to having such a noteworthy chest in real life.
“Those are not my real boobs,” said Janene in her blog post. “Let me explain. It was the first day of kindergarten for my youngest child and I arrived at the classroom to pick her up at the end of the day. All of the children were running up to their parents proudly displaying their new drawings of flowers, hearts, and animals. My daughter thrust her picture into my face, beaming, ‘It’s you and me!’ I looked down at the picture. Of boobs. Really, really big boobs. Yes, MY little artist didn’t draw hearts or flowers…she drew an EXTREMELY inaccurate depiction of her mommy for all the world to see.”
Janene shared that she was pretty speechless and the only word that could surface for her daughter’s artwork was “Wow.”
“Laughing to myself during the drive home, I was imagining the teacher probably thought Dolly Parton was coming to pick up this child. I bet she was a little surprised when it was just me and my B-cups that strolled through the classroom door that afternoon. I love this drawing because it is a reminder of how our children can view us so differently than we view ourselves. Look at me here…my boobs are perky, my hair is thick and bouncy, I have a perfect, tiny nose, and my smile is bright. I mean, really, I’ve never looked better. And if that’s how my daughter chooses to see me, I will treasure it forever.”
This is a perfect example of our children giving us one of those many daily laughs and it is certainly a drawing that Janene will keep forever.
Since Janene shared this story and the drawing, it’s been shared more than 3,500 times and like by more than 28,000 users.
