During the pandemic, parents have been at home with children more than ever before in recent history. With so much time in the house, parents have needed to watch their children extra closely lest the child finds himself or herself in a dangerous situation. A lot of problems can occur while “safely” at home! However, one dad was in for the fright of his life when he spotted his baby’s face in the washing machine.
One father has recently turned to social media to share a horrifying experience he had involving his infant at home. While washing some clothes in the laundry room, dad took a close look at the laundry machine – which was running – and saw something horrifying that left him breathless. His baby’s smiling face was starring right back at him from inside the washing machine. Dad was horrified and feared for his baby’s life!
Fortunately, the baby was not really in the washer. Instead, mom had put a t-shirt into the machine that had the baby’s face printed on the front of it. Dad was able to breathe a sigh of relief when he realized it was not really his baby in the washer, but it took him some time before his pounding heart relaxed and returned to normal.
Dad decided to snap a picture of the washing machine to show people on Imgur how he was not as crazy as they might think. The baby really does appear to be inside the washing machine. Dad contributed the following comment about what he saw in the laundry room that set his heart racing.
“Please, if you are ever washing your favorite shirt with a picture of your child on it, just put a warning note on the washer or something..”
The viral image has gained a lot of popularity on the image-sharing site. So far, it has accumulated more than 3,400 upvotes and counting. There were also dozens of comments shared by people from across the globe. The following reactions stood out!

“It helps if the baby doesn’t look terrified on the shirt too.”

“I’m convinced that’s just your baby,” another person wrote.
“What’s the big deal? I put it on the delicates setting,” joked another person.
“Jesus! Give a person a heart attack!” one person added.
“I don’t see the problem,” another person joked. “Kid looks like they’re having fun.”
In the end, one person suggested a sensible solution to this baby-in-the-laundry problem.
“Turn your shirts inside out. The prints will last so much longer!”
However, parents – and pet owners – need to be careful that their little ones and furry friends are not in the dryer or washing machine before they start a load. One person offered a terrifying story: “Co-worker’s cat just died in a dryer accident about a week and a half ago. If you have kids or pets, check before loading.”
