It is hard to understand any murder, especially when it is committed by someone the person knew. When someone commits a murder of the one they are supposed to have loved, it is hard to understand. It is the type of situation where there are no real answers and it is hard to get closure. Vincent Terry, 47, reported his wife missing on January 8, 2018.
He told authorities in Marion County, Florida, that his wife had been missing since December 21st. He told authorities that his wife, Chrystal Terry, 41, left their Summerfield home at 9:30 p.m. that night and never returned. She was 20 weeks pregnant at the time and she left the house without any of her personal belongings such as her phone, purse, or medications.
Once the report was made, authorities began their investigation into the disappearance of the missing pregnant woman. The husband told authorizes, upon questioning, that he and his wife had argued that night and that is what prompted her to leave. Authorities proceeded to check phone records and search the home for clues. There was plenty to find.
They came across gruesome photos upon searching Vincent Terry’s cell phones. They found photos on his phone of Chrystal bloodied, naked, and she appeared to be deceased at the time the photos were taken. It also appeared, in the photograph, that she had suffered a gunshot wound to her abdomen. Vincent Terry’s answer to the photos was that he had taken the photos of his wife to show her what she looked like after she had taken pills and passed out and that she left the house after those photos were taken.
Their search into phone records revealed a lot more. They found that Chrystal had texted a friend at 7:30 p.m. on December, 21st asking for a ride and using the code of 911. Those texts with her friend had subsequently been deleted.
Going on suspicions, authorities sent cadaver dogs to search for the missing woman’s body, which is how they were lead to the forensic evidence within the home. They discovered evidence of a recent deep cleaning and evidence blood splatter on the living room walls. They also recovered a .22 caliber rifle in the home and 53 bullets for that rifle as well. They have yet to locate the woman’s body aside from all the evidence that they collected from the home and the phone records.
They also found a history of issues between husband and wife from another state. Vincent Terry was previously arrested for attempted murder on his wife in the state of Colorado. Charges were never pursued because Chrystal would not cooperate with the authorities in the pressing of those previous charges.
Based on the evidence from the phones, the house, and his previous history, Vincent Terry was placed under arrest on numerous charges. He is charged with 2nd degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and 53 counts of possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. He is currently being held without bond in the Marion County Jail. The body of Chrystal Terry is still missing, almost three months after her disappearance.
