If you’re a fan of Mexican flavors or Tex-Mex, then you’re going to love this recipe. Although it requires a bundt pan, which doesn’t usually get used for savory dishes, you’ll soon be singing its praises – as well as the praises of the recipe writer – because the taco crunch ring (where the soft shell taco meets a Taco Bell crunch wrap supreme) is a dish that your family is going to be begging you for.
In the video below, you’ll learn how to make this delicious dish in just three minutes and thirty seconds. Although it takes a bit more time than that to make it, this dish is quite easy to take from the grocery store to your kitchen to your dinner table to your taste buds.
You only need to gather the following ingredients to make the taco crunch ring. Here’s what you should get before you get started, according to the YouTube video recipe.
– 10 flour tortillas
– 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1 large white onion, diced
– 1 garlic clove, minced
– 1 red bell pepper, diced
– 1 jalapeño, diced
– 2 tbsp cayenne pepper
– 1 tsp salt
– 1 tsp pepper
– 2 tbsp paprika
– 1 tsp ground cumin
– 1 lime
– 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese (you can also substitute fiesta – blend or Mexican style cheese)
– 1 cup tortilla chips
Once you have all of the ingredients in one place, you’re ready to go. First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and heat a large pan over medium heat. While that’s warming up, stack ten soft tortillas on top of each other and slice them into four equal sections.
Use cooking spray to cover a bundt pan and line it with tortilla strips. Then spread half of the cheddar cheese across the tortillas.
Now it’s time to cook your filling. Put the ground beef, veggies, and seasoning into your heated pan and cook for a few minutes – five to ten should do the trick. Finish it off with a sizzle by squeezing lime juice on top of it.
Before you put the mixture onto the cheese in the bundt pan, let the ground beef mix cool. Then load it on and top it off with more tortillas on top.
Layer the remaining ingredients in the following order: mozzarella cheese, tortilla chips, tortilla strips, cheddar cheese, beef mix, mozzarella cheese, and the remaining tortilla strips.
Now put the bundt pan into your hot oven and bake for 45 minutes.
