Meghan Markle has never been a stranger to the spotlight. The former television star is now, as everybody in the entire world knows, married to Prince Harry. The gorgeous couple recently embarked on a tour through Australia to greet and connect with the people there. They arrived to much fanfare, but it was one little admirer that really caught Markle’s attention right off the bat!
Gavin Hazelwood, 6, decided to bring one special thing when he decided to be “sick” and stay home from school in order to see the Duke and Duchess. He didn’t buy it though, but rather made it with his own two hands!
Gavin crafted a pasta necklace for his favorite duchess, with a little bit of help of course. In the end, it turned out absolutely wonderfully.
“It was my idea, but Mum helped a bit,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald. “I did the pasta with gold paint. Mum helped me thread through the necklace.”
This idea could have simply become a cute memory for the two of them, but the story doesn’t end there. Gavin and his mother stood there waiting patiently behind the barrier holding back the crowd. After more minutes than they could count, suddenly the Duke and Duchess appeared around the corner.
Gavin took his chance and stuck out his hand bravely, his golden pasta necklace shining and shimmering in the wind. He also held up his sign like a champion, proudly stating to Markle, “I Made You A Necklace.”
The shiny necklace miraculously caught Meghan’s eye, and she looked up and immediately spotted the sign. She instantly invited the young man to come closer and share his gift with her, up close and personal! It was a dream come true for this adorable little boy.
Meghan grasped the necklace gently out of his hand, then complimented him on his fine handiwork. She placed it over her head and draped it across her neck – much to Gavin’s approval. His wide, cheek-to-cheek grin said it all.
Markle and her husband Harry will be on this tour for around 16 days, and they’ll travel to exotic locales like Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand in addition to their stop in Australia. Along the way, they should expect to be greeted by the same kind of love and adoration shown to them all over the world.
The royal pair has now announced that they are expecting a child, and both couldn’t be happier. They are now in the early stages of choosing a name for the baby, according to an interview with People. Just yesterday, the popular magazine announced that Meghan would actually be taking it easy for a few days from her busy touring schedule.
They announced the pregnancy during their Australian tour, and Harry went so far as to claim that they both, “genuinely couldn’t think of a better place to announce the, er, upcoming baby… Whether it’s a boy or a girl.”
