When it comes to who the Democrats will select to represent them going into the 2020 presidential election, it could be absolutely anyone. But a liberal filmmaker named Michael Moore – the name behind Bowling for Columbine, Where to Invade Next, Michael Moore in Trumpland, and Fahrenheit 11/9 – accurately predicted that Trump would win the presidential election. That’s why Michael Moore is begging Democrats put only one person in line to fight for the Presidency – and it is not the candidate you’d expect.
During a speech that he delivered at a dinner organized by the Michigan Chapter of National Lawyers Guild, he revealed who he thought should spearhead the Democratic presidential ticket come November 2020. And it was the former First Lady Michelle Obama.
“Are you figuring out who this is? You already know! A beloved American! They love her more than her husband — and they loved him!” said Moore to the crowd.
Because Michael Moore thinks that liberal undervalue the factor of likability, which he thinks makes Oprah and Tom Hanks great bets for the 2020 election, he thinks former First Lady Michelle Obama would be a shoo-in for the presidency.
“We need Tom Hanks, Oprah, Michelle Obama. Who would not vote for Michelle Obama?” Moore said.
Moore has focused on political issues for most of his film career. But it was his latest movie, Fahrenheit 11/9, which analyzed the presidential election in 2016 that has sparked more controversy than ever before. In the documentary, Moore claims that the Democrats need to fight back with fire, not the mediocracy of a candidate like Joe Biden.
Moore never agreed that the Democrats should put Hillary Clinton against Trump. He thinks there has to be someone much more likable in the running if they’re going to take on the reality television star.
“Democrats need beloved figures running. Say what you want about Trump, but tens of millions watched his show. As things stand right now, everybody should operate as if it’s a two-term Trump.”
Although every candidate Michael Moore has suggested claims they will not put their name in the hat for running for the presidency, the verdict is still out.
Michelle Obama previously denied claims that she would take on the job as president because she “wouldn’t ask her children to do this again,” reports The Hill. “It’s good to get out of the house. So far, so good — it hasn’t been that long since we left. … It’s good not to have the weight of the world upon your shoulders.”
Oprah has offered a similar response. Although her #MeToo speech sparked so much support for her bid for the presidency, she announced that “It’s not something that interests me. I don’t have the DNA for it.”
And as for Tom Hanks, the actor and author told Vulture, “Just because I’m an actor, I can give a good speech, I agree with that. But the concept of actually voting for someone just because they can do that? Then Monty Hall could have been president of the United States! I get what he’s saying, I understand, but I don’t buy my participation.”
