Mom’s Topless Photo With Her Four Year Old Is Causing Quite The Controversy

When my parents were growing up, doctors and scientists encouraged parents to feed their babies formula. Then things changed, and breast milk was considered healthier for a little one. Now breast milk is still considered the best way for moms to give their babies the vital nutrients they need. Although not every mom can breastfeed, those that can do it often swear by it.

Breastfeeding not only is good for the little one, but it is also economical as parents do not have to pay the high price for formula.

The World Health Organization calls breast milk “the ideal food for the healthy growth and development of infants.”

Nevertheless, in American society moms are often shamed and ridiculed when breastfeeding their babies. Because it is socially unacceptable for women to expose their breasts in public, people look down on moms who need to feed their little ones while they’re out of the house. Because of this social stigma and the fact that the United States does not offer lengthy maternity leave to new moms, the rate of breastfeeding drops after a baby turns six months old.

Only about 27percent of babies are still breastfed at twelve months old. But the statistics have not stopped Leanne Allerton from living her truth.

Leanne has decided to breastfeed her baby for much longer than what is common. With a massive YouTube fan base, 35-year-old Leanne loves to share videos of her children breastfeeding. But in her most recent video, the mother shows her four-year-old daughter Poppy suckling at her breast. Although most moms quit breastfeeding when a child turns one, Leanne has decided to keep putting her toddlers and preschoolers to breast – and it is doing great for her YouTube channel. The video of Poppy breastfeeding has one million views and counting.

Leanne has been forced to justify her videos as lots of viewers are disturbed that she still breastfeeds her older children.

“I post breastfeeding videos when I feel like talking about things because there will always be someone out there who is going through the same thing,” she told Daily Mail. “You get a lot of nice suggestions but also a lot of abuse Those I tend to block and delete. But I’m shocked by how many views it has had.”

Leanne explains in the now viral video that she breastfeeds her older daughter so she can bond with the child. It’s less about nutrition than it is about the mother-daughter connection. She also knows that when her daughter is breastfeeding, she feels comfortable and safe. And Leanne always wants her daughter to feel safe.

Over the last eight years, Leanne has breastfed all four of her children. And Poppy is not the only older child who still latches onto mom’s breast. Her five-year-old son also breastfeeds regularly.

“He was still quite young, and I didn’t want to say no,” she admitted. But I got through all the hard stages, and we got into a flow where it became effortless. I just knew it helped settle him and I didn’t want to take that away.”
