Newlywed Drowns In Front Of His Wife On Their Honeymoon

Days after marrying the love of his life, a 22-year-old aspiring pastor drowns in front of his wife while they’re honeymooning in Florida. Due to climate change, Florida has become a dangerous place to swim in recent years. This able-bodied man of God was dragged out into the ocean by the strong current and died in one of the worst ways imaginable.

The couple traveled from Iowa to Florida to celebrate the consummation of their love. But 22-year-old Cheyenne Hendrick and Dalton Cottrell experienced terrible tragedy on the trip that was supposed to be the happiest of their lives.

The young couple married in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday, July 27. They traveled to Florida shortly after tying the knot and experienced the worst possible trip to Florida.

“Yesterday afternoon while at the beach the Lord decided to call my husband Dalton to come home to him,” Cheyenne Hedrick, 22, said on Facebook after she lost her husband to the ocean.

Dalton died just three days after marrying the love of his life. Cheyenne shares the chilling details of his demise on Facebook.

“Three days of wedded bliss turned into a nightmare very quickly for the Cottrell family as well as my own. Many of you know, but more of you do not. So the family and I decided to put the awful news here on Facebook though this is not where I wish to place it or even have to say it. Yesterday afternoon while at the beach, the Lord decided to call my husband Dalton to come home to Him. There is so much fear and uncertainly coursing through myself. My parents came down early this morning to be with me as I begin the next journey.”

She added, “Never did I think at 22 would I be a wife and then a widow so quickly. Please pray for me and all families as we grieve. Right now, there are no details for a funeral, but we will know more in the next several days. I love you so much, Dalton.”

This was Dalton’s first time in the ocean. When the water started to pull Dalton down, his wife said he “freaked out” and started pulling her under as well. As the water got stronger, he “began to struggle.”

“She attempted to assist him, but was unable to help him due to him pulling her under,” police said in a statement, KCRG-TV reported. “She advised at one point after him being under the water for approximately for a minute he came back up, and his eyes were rolled in the back of his head.”

When the lifeguard got to Cottrell, he pulled the newlywed to shore. The aspiring pastor was foaming at the mouth. The lifeguard started to CPR, but it was not enough to save the young man.

The family has started a fundraising campaign to help pay for funeral expenses and to help out the young widow.

In this time of tragedy, the family needs all the help they can get. Share your thoughts of support in the comments.
