If you’ve ever gotten a sunburn, then you know how painful they can be. But one woman has a trick that might save you next time. Her name is Cindi Allen-Stewart, and she lives in sunny Texas and knows all about dealing with the aftermath of that glowing orb in the sky. Not long ago, Cindi came forward to share an amazing life hack that she has that can help you get rid of sunburns so much faster than what you are doing now.
Cindi loves being outside, but as everyone knows, being out in the sun can result in uncomfortable, and potentially dangerous, sunburns. Whenever she gets a sunburn, Cindi takes action immediately in order to minimize the damage and to reduce the recovery time. In other words, she gets her sunburn treated faster than most people are able to do.
What is Texas Cindi’s trick? She uses shaving cream to help get rid of her sunburns. You’ll see how she does it in the images below.
Because she uses menthol foam – it cannot be the gel variety of shaving cream – she makes it quite clear that the brand of shaving cream does not matter. That means if you’re trying to save a few bucks when giving this trick a try, you can buy the store brand variety of shaving cream and save yourself some hard-earned cash.
“Usually, it takes just a couple of days from start to finish,” Cindi said via her now-viral Facebook post. “But this takes the heat out of it fast and makes it more comfortable on you.”
Who would have thought that shaving cream could be used to treat a sunburn? But once you really start to consider it and think about it, it does start to make sense.
Cindi encourages you to put the shaving cream all over the sunburn. But let it sit on the top of your skin. Don’t rub it in too much. Then let it sit there for about 30 minutes, and you’ll watch as it helps cool down the sensation and heal the burn.
“If you still need it, do it again the next day,” Cindi suggests. “Usually, after that second treatment, the sunburn disappears.”
Because Cindi swears by the shaving cream method when dealing with sunburn, she is proud to share her DIY tip on social media. People quickly took to her advice and tried it out when they got sunburns and agreed with the Texas woman – this method works well.
“The final picture was taken the third day after my sunburn,” she revealed. “I slept great after the first treatment, and when my shoulders still felt hot from the burn the next day, I had another coating of shaving cream on just my shoulders. I have not had any peeling either. I used this on my kids too!”
If it works for Cindi and her entire family, it is certainly something you should try for yourself if you experience sunburn this season.
