A viral video that has been making its way across social media has caused quite a controversy. The video depicted the moment a group of Christians was singing Gospel music “30,000 feet in the air” as part of their Easter celebration on Holy Saturday. Many people commented on the video and pointed to it as an example of how Christians are treated differently than people from other religions in the United States of America.

Among those who had something to say about the singing Christians in the video was Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar. Omar, who is a Muslim, argued that if she was celebrating her religion like that in public, she would have been stopped.

Omar retweeted the clip of the Christian singing on the plane and added, “I think my family and I should have a prayer session next time I am on a plane. How do you think it will end?”

Conservatives leaped at the chance to slam Omar for her comment. Among those who had a response for the famous Muslim was the staunch Donald Trump supporter, Vernon Jones.

“‘Why do you hate Christians, Ilhan?” Vernon wrote in response to Omar’s tweet.

Meanwhile, a Republican from Minnesota named Cicely Davis, who is fighting other Republicans in the state’s GOP primary, claimed that it would be “no problem” for Muslims to openly pray on a plane mid-flight. She added that the issue was not with Muslims but with Omar specifically, writing, “the issue is you hate Christians & Jews & lots of Muslims.”

Royce White, who is also competing against other Republicans in the Minnesota GOP primary, added that Omar’s comment was made to “disrespect Christianity” and warned, “the Democrats you serve don’t believe in God.”

A Florida Republican running for Congress, Jose Castillo, complained about Omar, saying: “Muslims can & do pray in public.” Castillo added that in the United States, Omar and people like her “want a country where Christians aren’t allowed to do the same.”

The viral video was uploaded to social media by Jack Jensz Jr. The singing was recorded in the middle of a flight to Germany, where a group of Christian flamboyantly sang about Jesus and their love for God. The clip was captioned with “We are taking this flight over for Jesus!”

Regarding the video of the Christians singing on the plane, it is uncertain if the plane was a private jet that only carried Christian – or if it was a commercial airline where a group of Christians was so inspired by their love of Jesus Christ that they broke out into joyous song.

Nevertheless, Jensz identifies himself as the founder of the religious organization Kingdom Realm Ministries, which is supposedly based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. TMZ reported that Jensz spent time in Germany and across Europe – where the video was thought to have been recorded.

What do you think about Rep. Ilhan Omar’s comments about the singing Christians on the plane?
