Some people have no filter and they take advantage of any opportunity to belittle another person. Oftentimes, these harsh comments are a result of a person’s physical appearance because that is the easiest thing to poke fun at. When one Indiana teen decided to take advantage of a bakery sale, she was on the receiving end of some cruel remarks, but that didn’t put a damper on her day, and instead, she got revenge in her own way.
Nineteen-year-old Vega Blossom heard that her local bakery was having a cupcake sale, so she headed over to the bakery, on a mission to take advantage of the sale of the normally pricey cupcakes. The Indiana teen had only intended buying six of the cupcakes, but her mind was quickly changed as a result of a few words that she overheard while standing in line.
While standing in line at the bakery, the woman in front of Blossom was taking a long time to order a cake, so when it was her turn to order she was happy, as were the two women in line behind her. Instead of simply moving forward in the line, the two women behind Blossom said, “Thank God, now let’s hope this fat b*$#* doesn’t order all the cupcakes.”
Blossom, who is a size 18, is used to people commenting on her weight, as she had grown up being chubby, but the words still hurt.
“When I heard the nasty things the women said, I honestly wanted to cry,” said Blossom. “It really hurt my feelings. How could these grown women be so mean to someone they’ve never met, let alone talked to? Growing up a chubbier girl, I always got snide comments about my weight from people who, for some reason, think it’s their business.”
Instead of getting mad, Blossom got even and decided to purchase the remaining 20 cupcakes, instead of the six that she was originally planning on purchasing.
“Things like this usually wouldn’t bug me, but the fact that I didn’t know these women, and they said this so rudely and loudly-so I could obviously hear it was different than other times,” said Blossom who is hoping that this is a lesson in karma and treating others kindly. “But I swallowed the hurt and thought of the best possible thing I could do back to them that wasn’t horrible, but that would teach them a lesson about respecting others.”
Evidently, Blossom wasn’t the only person that the women were poking fun at, as she also overheard them talking about the person who was in front of her.
The best part about this incident is that the staff at the bakery heard the women’s harsh comments and gave Blossom free chocolates and cookies to show their support for her.
Blossom’s friends and Starbucks’ co-workers got a good deal in the long run, as Blossom was sure to share her cupcakes with them.
“I bought every damn cupcake. I spent $54 on cupcakes just to be a b***h,” said Blossom in a Facebook post that she shared about the incident.
