If you ever thought eyeball tattoos were a good idea, this story is going to make you rethink your assumption. While most people would avoid inking their eyeball, one Australia woman thought it was a great way to differentiate herself as she struck out in her modeling career. But now 24-year-old Amber Luke, who goes by Blue Eyed White Dragon, spent about $26,000 on tattoos, including those on her eyeball – now she’s blind and wants to warn other people away from the dangerous procedure.
Amber decided to tattoo her eyes blue to better fit her new name. After the forty-minute procedure was finished, Amber said that she went blind for three weeks. Although she knew that the procedure might do that to her, she was not ready for the difficulty that entailed.
When she first let the tattoo artist ink her eyeball, she was shocked by how much pain it entailed.
“I can’t even begin to describe to you what the feeling was like, the best thing I can give you is once the eyeball was penetrated with the ink, it felt like [the tattoo artist] grabbed ten shards of glass and rubbed it in my eyes.”
Why would Amber want to have the feeling of glass shards being rubbed around her eyeball? Because she was so intent on living up to the name she had declared for herself.
While the Australian model said the procedure “shouldn’t be dangerous,” it blinded her for weeks afterward. The artist injected the ink too deep into her eyeballs, which caused her to lose vision for a long time.
According to the video about her from Barcroft TV, “Amber Luke, from Brisbane, Australia, has gone from 0 to over 200 tattoos in under seven years and has even had her eyeballs tattooed bright blue and tongue split. She was diagnosed with severe clinical depression at just 15 years old. But the model got her first tattoo done at the age of 16 and claims it felt like “a release of negative energy” for her. Since then, she hasn’t stopped and has recently started getting body modifications such as breast augmentation and plans a Brazilian butt lift. Now, her aim is to be 100% covered in tattoos by the time she is twenty-five.”
Although Amber has accumulated more than 200 tattoos, she’s finished with extreme body modifications like eyeball tattooing.
“I don’t plan on getting any more body modifications that are extreme in that manner. So no more tongue splitting, no more eyeball tattooing.”
When you watch the video below, you’ll get a glimpse into Amber’s life. Here are some comments shared by viewers like you.
“For such a pretty girl, all the stuff she’s done to her face makes her look like she’s in her 30’s and not early 20’s.”
“She’s gonna feel so empty when she can’t think of any more ways to change her body. This is an addiction. She hasn’t been finding herself or expressing herself. She’s only been distracting herself.”
“She looks really pretty in all the pictures, but in the videos and ‘real life,’ she is ugly as hell.”
