On Friday, a substitute teacher from Georgia was hauled away in handcuffs after she allegedly masturbated in front of a classroom filled with seven- and eight-year-old children. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reported that 30-year-old Amelia Ressler filmed herself during the sex act. She has been accused by the sheriff’s office of being “engaged in indecent and immoral acts while in the presence of school-aged children” while the small children at the Mt. Zion Elementary School in Carroll County had the opportunity to watch.
After filming the content in front of the children, Ressler began to distribute the video. Before long, the video reached a member of the school community who recognized the classroom and was able to report Ressler’s illegal behavior.
Now, Georgia authorities are taking a hard line against Ressler for his actions. She faces charges that include child molestation. She faces one charge for every student in the second-grade classroom at the time. However, the sheriff’s office does not feel that the charges are harsh enough for the crime and has warned that Ressler’s charges could be upgraded pending further investigation.
Authorities report that Ressler filmed herself masturbating in front of the second-grade class on January 28, 2021, between 7:30 am and 2:30 pm. The exact time of the incident is still under investigation.
The thirteen-second porn video begins by showing the small children in the classroom. Ressler then pans the video to her sex act. She posted the content to Snapchat. Police now have access to the original sex video with the children in it.
“It appears she was masturbating while the classroom was full of kids,” Ashley Hulsey with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office told Fox 5 Atlanta. “We obtained video evidence because she videoed it herself and disseminated it, and we were able to get a hold of that evidence.”
Ressler’s connection to the Carroll County School District is unclear. It is not currently known how long she has been employed by the school district or if she has violated children in the past with similar sex acts in the classroom.
“We appreciate the dedication Carroll County Schools has for the safety of their students as we were contacted immediately following the allegations, and we will continue to work closely with them during the remainder of the investigation,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Now, investigators want to know how badly the children were traumatized by the sex act. They will be conducting careful interviews with the children to determine the extent of the psychological damage.
“It’s one of these things the kids are going through that they shouldn’t,” said Hulsey. “The mental anguish that it’s causing these children and parents, that was our drive behind working this case, getting it down quickly, getting her to put in jail as quickly as possible. It’s disturbing. That’s what it is. Where she was sitting, it wasn’t like it was a closed desk and couldn’t look up and visually see what she was doing at the time.”
