Teen Girl Sits Down With Her Grandpa To Perform My Favorite Song From 1939

We all have our favorite songs from when we were younger. “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” is arguably one of the most recognizable songs in history. It was first written for The Wizard of Oz by Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg. Everyone knows the famous scene when Judy Garland belts out the emotional song in her starring role as Dorothy Gale. The song was an instant classic and earned the Academy Award for Best Original Song of 1939.

It has been covered countless times in every musical style you could think of, from The Dimensions poppy version to the smooth Hawaiian vibes of Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s soft ukelele. Each version adds something newer than the one before it.

Turns out, they saved the best for last! The newest cover of this song comes from a grandfather-granddaughter duo and it’s going to blow your mind!

Frank Nardone may be 81 years old, but he plays the ukelele like a much younger man. He may only have a year and a half of experience playing the small instrument, but he looks like a professional while he strums away.

Frank’s granddaughter Brooke Falls is only 18-years-old but her talent is already evident. Together they shared their cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” with the world just a few weeks ago.

The video starts with Falls holding up a sign that says, “18.” Brooke then hands it over to Frank, who promptly turns it right over to read, “81.”

Frank starts smiling from ear to ear and strumming his ukelele. The happy chords of this famous song are instantly recognizable, and he absolutely nails it. Just a few seconds later, Brooke joins in and she takes the entire performance to the next level!

Her voice is hauntingly beautiful, entirely reminiscent of the original by Judy Garland. The performance is both heartfelt and impressive, and it’s no wonder. Brooke is already an accomplished performer and has been featured in shows across Philadelphia and the east coast for years.

She may just be graduating from high school but the future is already looking bright for this talented young woman. When you are this good at something, all you need is the right opportunity and the world can open up to you.

Her pitch-perfect voice left everyone in awe, and because the video went viral she has now been seen by millions of people! The internet is an amazing tool for sharing your gifts with others, and we are lucky enough to have this duo to thank for the performance of a lifetime.

The internet has been overwhelmingly supportive of the cute grandfather-granddaughter singing duo. Comments started rolling in and never stopped by people that can’t get enough of their amazing chemistry.

“How lovely!!” wrote Tripwire on Rumble.com.

“Very cool,” wrote LucianHodoboc. “I hope he lives to 100.”

Most people would love to have a voice like hers, so we can only hope that she continues to develop her skills. When you are given a gift, it’s important to take advantage of it.
