There Is A Cat Hiding In This Photo. If You Can Find It In 30 Seconds, You’re In The Top 2%

It’s not always easy to find something hiding in plain sight. If an animal is equipped with natural camouflage, they can blend into their environment as if they are the foliage itself. Through evolution, animals have developed all sorts of different types of camouflage. But the mechanism always matches the environment where the animal lives. However, if that environment often changes, as it does for animals including the chameleon and the octopus, some animals are capable of changing the color of their flesh to match what is behind them.

As HowStuffWorks writes on their website, “One of the most widespread and varied adaptations is natural camouflage, an animal’s ability to hide itself from predator and prey.” The resource added that “every advantage increases an animal’s chances of survival, and therefore its chances of reproducing. This simple fact has caused animal species to evolve a number of special adaptations that help them find food and keep them from becoming food.

The photo included here is a great example of what animals can do when their outer appearance matches the world around them. Although there is a cat hiding in this scene, you’re probably going to struggle to find it. Set the clock and see how long it takes you to locate the hiding cat. If it takes you fewer than 30 seconds to find the cat, then you’re among the top 2 percent of people attempting this puzzle. If it takes you longer than 30 seconds, don’t fret. Most of us are with you.

In the photo, you’ll see a dry landscape. The scene is adorned with gold-orange grass and tan dirt. And the animal hiding within the setting does not want you to know where it is. Because it is perfectly camouflaged, not many people are capable of finding it, let alone pointing it out within the first 30 seconds of viewing the image.

The video below will reveal more about the scene. So take a moment to watch it if you find yourself stuck. Remember, the vast majority of people struggle to find the cat hiding in this photo, so if that’s, you don’t worry about it.

When it comes to camouflage, HowStuffWorks writes that this cat is doing it right.

“An animal’s environment is often the most important factor in what the camouflage looks like. The simplest camouflage technique is for an animal to match the ‘background’ of its surroundings. In this case, the various elements of the natural habitat may be referred to as the model for the camouflage.”

According to that fact, this cat knew exactly what it was doing when it hid among the dry grass and dusty landscape featured in this photo.

If you have not yet set the timer and set out to find the camouflaged cat, get to it. Give the challenge your best effort. Tell us how it went for you in the comments below. And if you need a hint, watch the video for some support.
